Privacy Policy

Third parties

Anonymous page-view counts may be processed by a privacy-respecting analytics provider. Outbound links to operator sites (including Otaku Play itself) are tracked through a redirect so the referring page can be identified for affiliate attribution; the redirect does not read anything from your browser beyond the referring URL.

Children

The site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent us information, please write to editorial@otaku-play.com and we will delete it.

Changes

This policy is reviewed annually and whenever a change in the way the site works makes an update necessary. Material changes are flagged at the top of the page for thirty days after publication.

What we collect

This site collects two kinds of information. The first is technical data your browser sends to any website: IP address, approximate location derived from it, user agent, referring URL, and pages viewed. The second is anything you choose to send us: your email address and the content of your message when you write to editorial@otaku-play.com. We do not collect names, dates of birth, payment details or account numbers, because the site has no accounts and takes no payments.

International transfers

The site is hosted on servers that may be located outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data leaves the UK it is covered by the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Information Commissioner's Office, and the categories involved are limited to the technical data and correspondence described above.

Cookies brief

The site sets a small number of cookies for session management and anonymous analytics. The dedicated cookie policy page explains each category in detail and shows how to opt out of the non-essential ones.

How we use

Technical data is used to serve the site, keep it secure, and understand which pages are read. Correspondence is used to answer you and to improve pages where readers have flagged problems. We do not sell data, we do not share it for marketing, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
