Cookies

Which we use

This site uses essential cookies for session continuity (remembering, for example, that you have dismissed a notice or accepted the cookie banner) and anonymous analytics cookies that count page views without identifying you. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not sync with ad networks, and we do not run third-party retargeting pixels. The affiliate attribution for outbound links to operator sites is done server-side through a short-lived redirect rather than a persistent cookie on your browser.

Analytics

The analytics category is optional and can be turned off at any time from the cookie banner or by clearing cookies for this domain in your browser settings. Turning it off does not affect anything you see on the site; it only stops the anonymous page-view counter from registering your visit. The analytics data we collect is limited to URL, approximate country, device type and the referring page, and it is retained for twelve months before being aggregated into monthly totals and deleted at the individual-visit level.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store so that it can recognise your browser on the next visit. They do not run code, they cannot read other files on your device, and they expire after a defined period — sometimes at the end of the browser session, sometimes after several months. Most sites use a handful of them; so does this one. The alternative to cookies is to ask the reader to confirm their preferences on every page load, which is why even privacy-focused sites tend to keep a few.
