Escalation
If the operator's final response does not resolve the issue, the next step depends on the operator's licence. For UK Gambling Commission licensees, every operator must give you access to an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution body — the name of the ADR is on the operator's complaints page, and the referral is free to the player. The ADR will consider the file and issue a decision; the operator is bound by it, the player is not. You have twelve months from the operator's final response to refer the matter to the ADR.
Adr bodies
The ADR bodies most frequently used by UK-licensed casinos are IBAS (ibas-uk.com), eCOGRA (ecogra.org) and ThePOGG (thepogg.com). You do not choose which one hears your case — the operator does, when it joins the scheme. If the ADR cannot or will not take the complaint, the Gambling Commission (gamblingcommission.gov.uk) can be told about the operator's conduct, though the Commission does not act as a dispute resolver for individual players; its role is to supervise the licence rather than to recover funds.
What we can do
Otaku Play is an independent review site, not the operator, so we cannot credit a deposit, release a withheld withdrawal, lift a bonus restriction or close an account. What we can do, if a reader has hit a wall with the brand's own support team, is point them to the right escalation path and, where the issue is a factual one on our side, correct the page that led them to sign up. If a particular class of complaint comes up repeatedly, it will be reflected in the next quarterly re-test of the review.
What to prepare
Before you escalate, gather: your account username (never the password), the dates and amounts of the deposits and withdrawals in question, the full text of any bonus terms you accepted at the time you accepted them (a screenshot is worth more than a current link, because terms can change), the ticket numbers from the brand's support channel, and a clear timeline of what happened. A one-page summary with these facts in order will move faster than a long back-and-forth with the next person who picks up the ticket.
How to complain
The first stop is always the operator's own support channel: live chat for anything that needs a quick answer, and email with a reference number for anything that needs a paper trail. State clearly what you expected to happen, what actually happened, and what you want them to do about it. Keep screenshots of the cashier, the bonus terms as they stood when you deposited, and the correspondence. UK-licensed operators are required to acknowledge a complaint within a short window and to resolve it or issue a final response within eight weeks.
